Development and Marketing
Karen is a Seattle-based marketing and fundraising professional and has been with Oceans Initiative since 2018. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles. Following an extensive career in marketing, with leadership positions at an ultra-luxury cruise line and wildlife-focused expedition travel companies, Karen decided to change paths. She attended the University of Washington where she earned a Certificate in Nonprofit Management as well as a Certificate in Fundraising.
Growing up in Southern California, Karen has always loved the ocean and is fascinated by marine life. She believes in making a contribution to marine conservation and hopes to raise awareness and encourage others to take action to protect the oceans.
Karen enjoys hiking, kayaking, and photographing the glorious Pacific Northwest sunsets and surroundings.
