Research Associate

I am a marine ecologist with a deep commitment to using science to support conservation. My work supports a broad range of Oceans Initiative’s research activities—from fieldwork and ecological modeling to grant writing and publishing in peer-reviewed journals. I hold an undergraduate degree in Marine Science and Biology from the University of San Diego and a Master’s of Research in Marine Biology from the University of Plymouth, where I used statistical models to estimate the distribution and abundance of harbor porpoises in UK waters.
I love science, and I’ve had the great privilege of working in coastal systems around the world, studying how vulnerable, wide-ranging species like cetaceans respond to changes in their environments. My research interests lie at the intersection of spatial ecology, population dynamics, oceanography, and behavior.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, hiking, paddle sports, and nature photography.
