Research Associate
I have been working with Oceans Initiative since 2019 and am currently a Research Associate with the organization. Graduating with my Masters in Statistical Ecology from the University of St Andrews, I have academic experience in density estimation, marine mammal vocalization detection, and bioacoustics. During my employment with Oceans Initiative, I have worked on projects ranging from a Southern Resident Killer Whale behavioural study to looking at underwater noise and ecosystem disturbance.
When not working with Oceans Initiative, I am a recording musician and an outdoor enthusiast. Some topics that I am curious about include: how sound can influence emotion, the intersection between enjoying nature, studying it and preserving it, and, ethical methods for studying behaviour in marine animals.
